It is all about wholeness and interconnectedness.

With Holistic Yoga, you get synergy between the different methods. For me, this is where, Yoga, Tantra and Ayurveda come into that synergy. The overall result is greater than the sum of its parts.

Holistic Yoga: A Path to Complete Well-being

What is Holistic Yoga? Welcome to the practices that nurture the mind, body, and spirit. Holistic Yoga extends beyond physical postures, incorporating practices that balance every aspect of your being. Let’s explore what makes Holistic Yoga a path to complete well-being. It’s not a style of Yoga, but rather an approach.

The Essence of Holistic Yoga

Holistic Yoga embraces a whole-system approach, favouring the entire being over individual parts. This practice integrates physical health, mental clarity, emotional balance, and spiritual growth, adapted from ancient traditions to meet contemporary needs. With Holistic Yoga, you get synergy between the different methods. For me, this is where, Yoga, Tantra and Ayurveda come into that synergy. The overall result is greater than the sum of its parts.

Holistic means 'dealing with or treating the whole of something or someone and not just a part.' The idea is that when our whole system (body, breath, senses, mind, and soul) is in equilibrium, we are capable of healing any ailments or imbalances ourselves—the intelligence of the body knows how to do its work!

Key Elements of Holistic Yoga

Physical Practice (Asanas) – Yoga

  • Postures and Movements: Our sessions include diverse postures that build strength, flexibility, and balance while enhancing circulation and overall physical health.

  • Breath Awareness: Synchronizing breath with movement deepens the body-mind connection and amplifies the benefits of each posture.

Breath Control (Pranayama)

  • Breathing Techniques: Pranayama involves breathing exercises that regulate and direct life force, reducing stress, boosting energy, and enhancing mental clarity.

  • Energy Management: These practices balance and vitalise your body’s energy systems.

Meditation and Mindfulness

  • Mind-Body Connection: Meditation quiets the mind, reducing anxiety, and mental clarity and emotions while deepening the mind-body connection.

  • Mindfulness/Awareness Practices: Embracing mindfulness and presence in daily life enhances awareness and acceptance, promoting emotional balance and well-being.

Spiritual Growth – practices of Tantra and Meditation

  • Self-Realization: Holistic yoga encourages self-exploration, spiritual growth, and a deeper connection with your inner Self.

  • Universal Connection: It promotes a sense of unity with all life, cultivating compassion, devotion, and a deeper connection with the universe/nature.

Diet and Lifestyle - Ayurveda

  • Ahar: Diet, not just the food, but all that we consume through our senses.

  • Vihar: Healthy lifestyle, routines, and following the wisdom of the day. Lifestyle rooted in harmony with nature, encouraging sustainable habits and balanced living.

  • Nidra: Sleep

  • Brahmacharya: Intuitive Energy Practices

Energy Work (Mudras and Bandhas) – advanced practices of Tantra Yoga

  • Mudras: These symbolic hand gestures channel energy within the body, each serving unique purposes like concentration or relaxation.

  • Bandhas: Body locks that control energy flow, enhancing pranayama and meditation practices.

Physical and Mental Cleansing (Shatkarmas)

  • Shatkarmas: Purification techniques that cleanse the body and mind, supporting physical health and mental clarity, and preparing you for advanced practices of Yoga and Tantra
